Serving at Grace Commons Church

Everyone has a purpose and a place in the Kingdom of God.  We believe that an important step in growing as a disciple of Jesus is using our gifts to serve others in love.  Although we are a new church with growing ministries, we invite you to join us as we faithfully seek to use what God has given us.  

Here are some ways you can get involved and serve!

The Worship Team helps people connect to God through praise during our weekly worship service.  There are many ways to serve on our worship team.  If you sing or play an instrument we would love for you to help lead us in music.  There are also opportunities to serve by helping provide Audio Visual support or by serving Communion.

Children are a vital part of our ministry as a church.  We want our kids to grow up and know Jesus.  Our teachers meet with the kids each week to pray with them and for them, offer a Bible lesson, provide a snack, and play games.  Our teachers are trained and must undergo a background check.  We take every step necessary to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our little disciples.

Did you know that teenagers need Jesus too?  It's true!  Our youth are invited to join us after service each week for youth group.  Leaders are invited to come and provide love, guidance, and support to teenagers and to help them grow in a relationship with Jesus.  As with our Children's ministry, all youth leaders are trained and must undergo a background check.  This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to make a positive impact on the next generation in Jesus' name.

The Welcome team works hard to make sure every person who walks through our doors receives the warm invitation to know Jesus!  You can serve by greeting at the door, providing snacks for people attending service or our children and youth, and by starting up conversations with our guests before and after service.

In the digital age, it's important to have an attractive and professional online presence so that we can connect with others and share the good news of Jesus.  A great way to serve in the church is to help us create exciting content for the church website, our social media platforms, and for use during worship.  Are you a creative person?  This might just be the area for you.

Each week we could use help in setting things up for our worship service and then tearing down at the end.  This might include helping with audio/visual equipment, chairs and tables, the welcome table, or the Communion table.  We try to make sure we honor the space we use at Silver Heights so that they can continue doing ministry throughout the week.

Part of our mission is to serve the world in love.  We do this by connecting with our local community, identifying needs, and using our time and resources to help people in Jesus' name.  If serving others is a passion of yours, this might be a way you can be a part of the ministry at Grace Commons.  We are especially interested in bringing people on board who have strong organizational skills and can connect with other leaders in the community.
